The Smiddy
Situated in the exclusive Arden Estate, alongside our other immaculately restored traditional Steadings, The Smiddy is a grade “B” listed building and is the perfect location for a romantic get away for couples looking for a cosy, intimate cottage.
Built in 1868 and originally used as the Smiddy where the horses were shod, the walls have been exposed to bare the original stonework and are complimented by beautifully finished woodwork.
It gives this two person mews a homely feel, while the spacious conservatory offers an airy additional living area.
The Smiddy has a generous lounge and dining area with original stonework, hallway with toilet/shower room, fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar.
The bedroom is set on a mezzanine level, reached by a traditional hardwood staircase. A private patio area with BBQ and garden furniture is situated to the side and the property is fully inclusive of central heating, landline telephone, full Sky TV package in all rooms, DVD player and free Wi-Fi.
The 12-acre Arden Estate hugs the shoreline of Loch Lomond and is privately nestled within tranquil gardens just 200 yards from the water's edge with foot paths leading down to the loch where you can stroll along the shore.
The area itself is conveniently situated near the villages of Luss and Balloch with restaurants and bars a short distance away. The nearby Cruin restaurant/bar overlooks the water and is just a 10 minute walk. A path along the lochside also offers a walkway to the nearby town of Balloch.
